He was predeceased by: his parents, James O. Yates and Velva Yates (Beal); and his siblings, James Yates, Jr. and Betty Lou Yates Borders. He is survived by: his wife Lou Ann Yates of Harrisburg; his children, Jan Yates Rutledge (Ken) and Jeff Yates (Arrawhanna); his grandchildren, Josh Rutledge (Jacki), Gabe Rutledge (Lori) and Elizabeth Casey (Tim); his great grandchildren, Joel, Jude Rutledge, Drake, Hadley, Grady, Jazzy Rutledge, Hannah and Cameron Casey; and his brother Robert B. "Bege" Yates. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
