He is survived by: his wife Nellie Smith; his stepchildren, Donnie Wayne Carmickle, Barbara Ann Smith and Ricky Dale Carmickle; and his siblings, Virginia Leonberger, Evelyn Brugger, Betty Smith and William "Bill" Smith. He is also survived by 5 step grandchildren.
