George Glass Obituary
George Robert Glass, age 68, of Harrisburg, passed away at 12:36 AM, Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at the Carrier Mills Nursing Home in Carrier Mills, Illinois. George was born on October 31, 1950, in Harrisburg, to the late, Dorman and Beaulah (Hedger) Glass. On September 16, 2006 he married the former Nancy Paul and she survives in Harrisburg.
George was a member of Dorrisville Baptist Church. He loved his grandkids, playing golf and watching high school sports, particularly the Eldorado Holiday Tournament. George is survived by four children; daughter, Andi Miller and husband Jeff of Harrisburg, Illinois; son, Eric Glass and his wife Theresa of Wentzville, Missouri; son, Joshua Swain of Florida; and son, Jacob Swain and wife Sarah of Carbondale, Illinois; grandchildren; Lydia, Luke, Mark, Isaac, Ethan, Maya, Owen, Abbey, Chloe, Claire, Toby and Felicity; sister, Mary Jean Casey and husband David of Equality, Illinois; brother, John Glass of Ponte Vedra, Florida; several nieces and nephews and step mother, Mary Glass.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his daughter, Joy Gentry. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Friday, October 25, 2019 at Dorrisville Baptist Church. Rev. Dewayne Taylor will officiate and burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 11 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
