He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Hinant and Mary Hinant (White); and his brothers, Arthur Hinant, Jr., Harry Hinant and Darold Winkleman.

He is survived by: his wife Ann "Lou" Stone; his son John Hinant (Sherry Graham Hinant) of Harrisburg; and his grandchildren, Eric Hinant of Kentucky, Tyler Maloney of Marion, Illinois and Tehlar Maloney of Marion, Illinois. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
