He was predeceased by: his parents, Jess Rister and Iva Leora Rister (Brown); and his siblings, Wilson Rister (Eva), Gene Rister, Juanita Stallings (Wayne Stallings) and Rita Awalt (Harry).
He is survived by: his wife Wilma Rister of Harrisburg; his sons, Darrell Rister (Robin) of Harrisburg, Mike Rister of Shelbyville, Tennessee and Ron Rister of Harrisburg; and his sister-in-law Shirley Rister of Eldorado. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren.
