He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayne Ashford and Alma Irene Ashford (Lowrey); his parents-in-law, Ulys and Audrey Cowsert; and his siblings, Deneen Ashford and LaDonna Hall.
He is survived by: his wife Betty; his daughters, Kellie Stanford (Blaine) of Rosiclare, Illinois and Anita Brent (Tony) of Mt. Zion, Illinois.; his grandchildren, Brittny Cowsert and Tyler Stanford of Rosiclare, Illinois.; his siblings, Mary Ann Bishop (Jeff), Rosalie Tolbert (Steve), Joyce Spivey (Jimmy), Sherry Paskon (Larry) and David Ashford; and his siblings-in-law, Gene Cowsert, Russell Hall, Sue Cowsert and Linda Ashford. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
