He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayne Atkinson and Lois Atkinson; his brother Robert Wayne Atkinson; his nephew Michael Atkinson; and his sister-in-law Thelma Atkinson.
He is survived by: his wife Leslie Atkinson; his daughters, Kristy Greene of Bourbonnais, IL. and Kylie McManus; and his siblings, Johnny Atkinson of Harrisburg, Keith Atkinson of Rosiclare, IL., Larry Atkinson of Rosiclare, IL., Gary Atkinson of Rosiclare, IL., Annie Gholson of Eldorado, IL. and Debbie Mone of Rosiclare, IL.. He is also survived by Several Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, along with a host of Nieces and Nephews.
