He was predeceased by: his parents, Alonzo Gowins and Geneva Coots Vaughn. He is survived by: his former spouse Jessie LaNora Patterson; his stepchildren, Michael Vinson English, Kathy English James and John Vaughn (Eleanor Vaughn); his wife Wanell "Nellie" Gowins; his daughter Joyce; and his grandchildren, Amanda G. Martin, Quentin L. Martin, Dixie A. Ratliff Foster, Katelynn Vaughn and Allison Fitterer.
The family does ask for donations to be made in Bob Gowins's name to Post 11 Douglas American Legion.
