He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Joan Maguire (Cleary); his children, Kelly (Rowan Meade) of South Boston, Kathleen Maguire of Hanover and Laura (Derrick Jones) of South Boston; his grandchild Brendan Thomas Paul Meade; his parents, Paul Joseph Maguire and Eleanor Maguire (Hammond); and his siblings, Thomas Maguire of New Bedford, Anne (Brian Tuohy) of Milton and Robert.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Mass Fallen Heroes.
