He was predeceased by: his wife Iva "Charlene"; and his siblings, Jerry Seidel (late Shirley) and Tom Seidel (late Diane). He is survived by: his children, Kathy Weir (Jim) and Ken (Julie); his grandsons, Zachary and Anthony Seidel; and his sister Ruthie Seidel. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

“Over the years, I came to know Lion Ray Seidel as he was the Hanover Park Lions Club's Secretary and I received email from him every once in a while. When I heard that he had fallen on the stairs of his house, and it did a number on his back & neck, I began to make certain that I held onto the railing of my stairs as I was going up or down in my 3-level house.”
