He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Orie Miller and Dr. Sarah Miller; and his brother-in-law David Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Carol Goetz; his children, Jeff Miller (Timberly) and Melissa Peterson (Nate); his siblings, Steve Miller (Ann) and Kathy Johnson; his grandchildren, Mattie Bennett (Austin), Ethan Peterson (Erin), Noah Miller, Sophie Flanders (Blake) and Joel Peterson; and his great grandchildren, Clarabelle, Henry and Ezekiel.

Visitation was held on Saturday, September 7th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the First United Methodist Church (116 NE Perry Ave, Peoria, IL 61603). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 7th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home (2408 W Willow Knolls Dr, Peoria, IL 61614).
