She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Herman August "Gus" Meyer and Sena Meyer (Johnson); her husband John "Mo" Shoemaker; her siblings, Anna Boswell, Seebo Meyer and Dorothy Farner (Robert) of Toluca; her daughters, Robin Steckel (David) of Monmouth Junction and Lisa Suydam (Raymond) of Hanna City; her granddaughters, Paula Daniels (Kurt) of Fairview, Leslie Carver (Colin) of Carlyle and Rebecca Suydam (Mike Smith) of Nashville, Illinois; and her great grandchildren, Eli Carver, Morgun Daniels, Avery Daniels, Alexander Smith and Matthew Smith. She was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove Cemetery Association or the boiler fund at St. John Lutheran Church of Bartonville.
