It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Monica Garofalo of Hampshire, Illinois, born in Freeport, Illinois, who passed away on July 1, 2020, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis and Monica; and her son Matthew. She is survived by: her husband Edward; her son Dan; her daughter-in-law Olga; and her sisters, Mary and Helen.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday July 14th at Mount Hope Cemetery in Elgin with masks, social distancing, and no close contact of attendees outside of the immediate household due to the pandemic.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Monica's name to any one of her favorite charities- the Salvation Army, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, the Community Crisis Center, or the Northern Illinois Food Bank.
