He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouses, Madam Otilia Awalime and Mary Ellen Robinson; his children, Diana Asima-Kom of Ghana, Anita Asima-Dati of Ghana, Edzani Boyd (Carl), Sika Cook (Charles), Iwona Asima and Esemam Asima (Alesha); his brother Julius Wordzro; his aunt Janet of Ghana; and also Witnesses.

In 2010, Mr. Asima was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.
