He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Whitworth; his children, Don Hitchings Jr. (Lisa), Lynn Slone (Chad), Melissa Akers (Scott) and JoAnn Wade (Jim Lehr); his grandchildren, Kendra Breden (Peter), Marcus Johnson (April), Rachel Slone (Kyle), Logan Johnson, Katie Akers (Joe), Sadie Akers, Emily Akers, Cody Gregory and Matthew Gregory (Ashlynne); his son John Hitchings; and his siblings, Alan Hitchings (Yvonne), Fredrich Hitchings (Mickey), Betty Brown (William), Jean Hutter (Harry), Roy Hitchings (Eda) and Pat Hitchings (Marianne). He is also survived by nine great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
