With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Virginia Mae Grubbs of Gurnee, Illinois, who passed away on May 31, 2021 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Philburt; her parents, Andrew Holcombe and Cynthia Beryl Holcombe (Lyons); her siblings, James Holcombe, Llyod "Pete" Holcombe, Alice Holcombe, Ruth Moore, Jean Marie Copen and Dolly Lewallen; her sons-in-law, Robert Creamer and Mike Billick; her grandchildren, Robert Allen Gibson, Ralph Lee Conner and Ester Combs; and her great grandchild Dustin Everett Washburn.
She is survived by: her children, Marcella Adolphs (Scott), Everett Combs, Mary Combs, Sandy Creamer, Maxine Billick, James Combs (Dawn), Robert Combs (Jessica), Carla Karow (Dwayne) and David Grubbs; and her sisters, Lucille Childs and Peggy Lyons. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like houseplants to replant in memory of Virginia.
