He was predeceased by: his wife Geraldine "Gerry" Ebler; his parents, Frederick W. Ebler and Bernice Ebler Sr.; his siblings, Albert Ebler, Judy Ebler Fredsbo and Marilyn Ebler; and his brother-in-law Frank Celesnik.
He is survived by: his children, James VanderVere, Larry VanderVere (Sharon), Shelley Kirby, Mark Ebler (Lillian), Penny Traynoff (Robert) and Fred Ebler (Denise); his grandchildren, Jim, Alisha, Lil Sharon, Paul, Timothy, Phil, Dan, David, Matt VanderVere, Ronny, Becky, Susie, Bruce, Jeff Kirby, Lacey, Joseph Ebler, Samuel Traynoff and Cheyenne Kirkland Ebler; his sister Nancy Celesnik; and his sister-in-law Bonnie Ebler. He is also survived by 33 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
