It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Russell Sappington (Griggsville, Illinois), born in Bluffs, Illinois, who passed away on February 4, 2020, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Sappington and Bernice Mueller Sappington; his spouse Ladema Rumple; and his sisters, Connie Baker and Katherine Sontag.

He is survived by: his sons, Steve Sappington (Angie) of Griggsville and Scott Sappington (Jeri Wainman) of Griggsville; his grandchildren, Jessica Sappington (Mike) of New Salem, Nicole Nash (Derrick) of Griggsville, Lindsay Slight (Trenton) of Griggsville, Brock Sappington of Griggsville, Austin Anderson of Detroit, Alisha Anderson of Milton and Chandler Sappington of Pittsfield; his great grandchildren, Sydnee, Kiereny, Aaliyah, Griffin, Lincoln, Hattie and Ariella; his great great grandchild Meika; and his brother David Sappington (Connie) of Pittsfield. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
