He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Luther and Laura Ethel Linn Hobson; his wife Dorothy Marie Westfall; his son Carroll "Beaner" Hobson; and his sons-in-law, Buddy Tholen and Mark Bush.
He is survived by: his daughter Ethel Tholen of Griggsville; and his stepchildren, Don DeJaynes (Velma) of Hannibal, Carolyn Beard (Richard) of Sebastian, Frank DeJaynes (Carolyn) of Springfield, IL, Patty Dehart (Don) of Springfield, Rose Defend (Larry) of Nashville, Marvin DeJaynes (Becky) of Griggsville, Lora Bush of Pittsfield, David DeJaynes (Theresa) of Custer Park, IL and Charlie DeJaynes (Leeann) of Mt. Sterling. He is also survived by several grandchildren and several great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
