It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Louis Chavez of Gridley, Illinois, born in El Paso, Texas, who passed away on December 25, 2021, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Cesar A. Chavez and Alice Cuellar Chavez; and his brothers, Cesar A. Chavez Jr. and Arthur R. Chavez. He is survived by: his wife Irene M. Waldmann; his sons, Robert Barba (Leah) of Bartlett and Joseph Barba of Elgin; his stepgrandchildren, Brooklynn and Olivia Barba; his sisters, Blanca I. Kozlauskas of El Paso, IL and Linda Rose Marie Chavez of El Paso, IL; and his aunt Blanche West. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
