He was predeceased by: his father Dale McFarland; his in-laws, Ray and Agnes "Betty" Hempen; and his brothers-in-law, Ray Bagato and Leroy Billhartz.
He is survived by: his mother Vivian McFarland (Roe); his wife Jackie Hempen; his daughters, Cassie Micnheimer (Troy) of Greenville and Stephanie Rose (Jake) of Greenville; his grandchildren, Johnathan D. Joiner, Raegan Micnheimer, Shelby and Maggie Rose; his siblings, Sue Gorline (Ed), Judy Bagato and Randy McFarland (Jan); and his siblings-in-law, Kenny Hempen (Pat) and Phyllis Billhartz. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
