He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle Taapken and Josephine Taapken (Lyons); his children, Alicia Winningham and Dustyn Taapken; his grandson Curtis Taapken; and also, Merle and Josephine.
He is survived by: his wife Janet; his son Rod Taapken (Sherri); his stepchildren, Amy Tuttle (Jeff), Ray Hamilton (Laci) and Kati Hamilton; his siblings, Donnie Taapken (Grace), Sandra Taapken, Richard Taapken (Rachel) and Barbara Taapken (Joe Bothel); and his half-sisters, JoAnn Brady and Jodi Bates.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
