He was predeceased by: his parents, Herschel Scales and Mary Etta Scales (Sherwood); his children, Clarence "Skeeter" Scales and Peggy Lynn Bauguss; and his siblings, Earl, Shay, Paul, Clarence, Ralph, Edna Wade, Leona Scales, Opal Closson, Mary Jane Jones, Francis Swank and Florence Sparks.
He is survived by: his wife Rosemary Seetes; his son Dan Scales (Linda); his grandchildren, Tasha Shaffer (Shay), Matt Scales (Tera), Dawn Scales, Bo Scales and Ashley Scales; his great grandchildren, Shelby, Shaylee, Tyler, Meah, Wyatt, Jordan and Tayven; and his great great grandchild Skylar.
