He was predeceased by: his parents, Owen Shay and Anna May Scales Chancellor (Hays); his grandfathers, Henry Hays (Eula) and Herschel Scales (Mary Etta); and his sister Cindy Yelton.
He is survived by: his children, Dylan Simms (Angel) of Phoenix, AZ and Jenna Simms of Casey, IL; his brothers, Scott Scales of Greenup, IL and Roger Scales of Greenup, IL; and his grandchildren, Aubree, Chance and Acelynn Simms. He is also survived by his best friend, CAVEMAN, and several nieces and nephews.
