He was predeceased by: his parents, James Harvey and Judith Marelene Sherwood (Clark); his brother-in-law Les Wilhelm; and his great-niece Ella Grace. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Sherwood of Greenup, Illinois; his children, Chris Ferguson of Greenup, Illinois, Jennifer Hampton (John) of Greenup, Illinois and Tate Nichols (Amber Diamond) of Tuscola, Illinois.; his grandchildren, Theo Ferguson of Greenup, Illinois, Isaac Ferguson of Greenup, Illinois, Lila Ferguson of Greenup, Illinois, Ava Nichols and Avery Nichols; his siblings, Susan Wilhlem of Casey, Illinois, Debbie Kuhn (Max) of Greenup, Illinois and Mike Sherwood of Casey, Illinois.; and his nieces and nephews, Ryan Darling (Mykka), Erin Hetzel (Justin), Dana Porter (Bryan), Ashley and Emily Sherwood.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Meyer Funeral Home - Greenup - Bishop Chapel (115 E Lincoln Dr, Greenup, IL 62428).
In loving memory of Steve, memorials may be made to the Greenup Area Fire Protection District or the Greenup Masonic Lodge #125.
