He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Floyd and Ella Mae Overton (Green); and his brother Leon Overton. He is survived by: his wife Doris Shoot; his daughters, Melody Kott, Angie Murawski and Tonda Christiansen; his granddaughter Kristy Tinsman Jr. (Larry); his sisters, Vickie Overton, Juanita Mulkey and Jackie Pugh; and his sister-in-law Mary Overton.
