He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Shook and Pearl Shook; his son Ray; and his brother-in-law Roger Miller. He is survived by: his wife Sheryl; his stepsons, Brian Cox (Chrissy) of Red Bud, IL and Troy Cox (Jamie) of O'Fallon, IL; his grandchildren, Jayce, Trenton, Aliyah and Camden; his siblings-in-law, Carol Miller, Mark and Bob Gabel; and his children, Judy, Kathy and Kenny.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Lincolnland Hospice.
