He was predeceased by: his parents, Hosea Leon and Betty Carol Adams (Barbee); and his brother James Adams. He is survived by: his wife Rita Whitford; and his children, Steven Adams (Janet) of Ft. Wainwright, Ala, James Joseph Purcell (Dana) of Dieterich, Andrew Michael Purcell of Illinois, Misty Shannon (Todd) of San Antonio and JoAnn Francise Purcell of Dieterich. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and by several nieces and nephews.
