It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gerald Hawes of Greenup, Illinois, who passed away on November 19, 2020, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Hawes and America Hawes (McMorris); his wife Josephine "Jo" Ghast; and his siblings, Elwood, Fred, Russell, Leland "Bud", Johnny Hawes, Catherine Elliott and Lucille Paden.
He is survived by: his children, Gerry Hawes (Vicki) and Becky Anderson (Tim); his stepsons, Bill Ghast, Bob Ghast and Bruce Ghast (Connie); his grandchildren, Kelsey Hawes, Kit Anderson, Jacob Anderson, BJ Ghast, Dakota Ghast, Melanie Seymour, Sarah Ghast, Derek Ghast (Lauti), Seth Ghast (Meghan) and Shelby Babbs (Jeff); and his sisters, Donna Henson and Judy Broniec (Brian).
