It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gay D. Murphy of Greenup, Illinois, who passed away on May 23, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Gay had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Gay may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter W. Scott and Alberta Scott (Dixon); her husband Frank D. Murphy; and her children, Danny Murphy, Juanita Farris and Sheila Murphy.
She is survived by: her children, Ronnie Murphy (Becky), Connie Green (John), Theresa Farris and Lillie Sullivan; and her sister Sheila Moore (Galen). She is also survived by 25 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren.
