With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Donald J. Hakey Sr. of Greenup, Illinois, born in Braceville, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hakey and Mildred Hakey; his wife Betty Hakey; his son Donald J. Hakey, Jr.; his son-in-law David Bunting; and his siblings, Marilyn Baade (Jim) and William Hakey.
He is survived by: his daughters, Kimberly Hakey of Morris, IL, Debbie Bunting of Coal City, Laurie Hibler of Coal City and Sandra Davis (Cal) of Crown Point, IN; his siblings, Jean Shear of Coal City, Linda Connor (Tom), Lorraine Farcus of Graymont, IL, Doug Hakey (Linda) and Jerry Hakey (Sue) of Essex, IL; and his niece Theresa Maskel of Morris, IL. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to Uplifted Care Hospice.
