With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Elizabeth A. Thien of Greenfield, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Elizabeth left this world on March 20, 2025 at the age of 79, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Adam Nord and Catherine Nord (Behnen); her brother Joe Nord; her son-in-law Lance Austin; and her grandsons, Kevin and Kyle Thien.
She is survived by: her children, Linda Austin (Bobby) of Collinsville, Julie Caselton (Steven) of Carrollton, Kenny Thien (Donna) of Wrights and Jeffrey Thien (DeAnna) of Glasgow, KY.; her grandchildren, Brandi Jeffers (Nathan), Randi Thien (Justin Decker), Tori Lovel (Jacob), Maxwell Thien, Madilynn Thien, Marshall Thien and Ruthie Thien; her great grandchildren, Sophie, Rylie, Andrew, Landon and Lyndy; her sister Mary Gillingham; and her sister-in-law Carol Nord. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 24th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. Michael's Catholic Church (411 Sheffield St, Greenfield, IL 62044). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, March 25th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Greenfield Lions Club or to the family.
