He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Edward Owen and Phyllis Kay Owen (Dorris); his brother Barry Owen; his grandparents, William and Sybil Dorris; and his uncle Bill Dorris.
He is survived by: his wife Cathy Owen (Slaughter) of Grayville; his children, William Owen of Bogalusa, Michael Meriwether (Amy) of Grand Junction, Eric Meriwether (Roxie) of Grayville, Illinois, Kyle Koontz of Grayville, Illinois and Emily Townsend of Grayville, Illinois; his grandchildren, Katie Carson (Trent), Krissy Neilson (Clay), Gabby McClanahan (Shannon), Maddy Macbeth, Kayla Nicholson, Aiden Townsend, Abby Koontz, Wade Cook and Dalton Earl; his aunt Patricia Dorris; his cousin Katheryn Brown; and his nephew Josh Owen (Melissa). He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.
