He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Kleinschmidt and Alberta Fern Kleinschmidt (Utley); his daughter Julie Ann Kleinschmidt; and his brother Harlan Kleinschmidt. He is survived by: his former spouse Debera Kleinschmidt (Michels); his wife Debbie Kleinschmidt of Grayville; his sons, David Kleinschmidt (Coleen) of Grayville, Russell Fewkes of Ellery, Daniel Metcalf (Amanda) of Albion, Illinois and Mikel Metcalf (Phyllis) of Albion, Illinois; his sisters, Ann Ayers (Terry) of Evansville and Helen Findling of Scottsdale, Arizona; and his grandchildren, Kaili, Madison, Tristen, Blake, Alec, Kassidi, Brooklyn, Cage, Brandt and Cherokee (Caitlyn).
Memorials may be made to the Grayville New American Legion and will be accepted at Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville, who is in charge of arrangements.
