He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Valdez and Margaret Valdez (Barella); his wife Rebecca Joyce Valdez (Lingafelter); and his brothers, Arthur, Jr. and Donnie.
He is survived by: his pet Rusty; his son John Rankin (Christy) of Milan, Michigan; and his sisters, Linda and Brenda. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
