It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roland W. Van Empel of Grayslake, Illinois, who passed away on November 10, 2023, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joop Empel and Eva Van Empel; and his siblings, Theodoor Van Empel and Wilma Tackett. He is survived by: his wife Zofia Van Empel; his children, Jack Mider (Sarah) and Margaret Hollihan (Patrick); his granddaughter Hannah Schexnider (Sawyer); his brother Raymond Van Empel; and his nephews, Ted Van Empel, Michael Binder and Robert Binder.
