He was predeceased by: his father-in-law Ray J. Harrell. He is survived by: his wife Judith; his children, Jennifer Maiden (Edward Schwall) of Grayslake and Benjamin Plotner (Maria) of Oak Forest; his grandchildren, Megan Heniff, Nicole Heniff, Luke Heniff, Carter Maiden, Ashlyn Maiden and William Maiden; his sister Sarah Jane Berger (Johan); his mother-in-law Mary Lou Harrell; and his sisters-in-law, Sue Buck (Tom) and Anita Cline (Kevin).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the , Kidney Foundation, or the United Protestant Church of Grayslake.
