He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Joerns and Irene Joerns (Holford); his wife Barbara Cowart; his granddaughter Trisha Joerns; and his siblings, Robert Joerns, Rosemary Wieland, Ruth Kloth, Delores Johnson and Sandy Gascoigne.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Joerns, Terry Joerns (Dawn), Kelly McGillivray (Steve), Tammy Bullock (Tom) and Cindy Hansen (Tim); and his sisters, Joyce Jackson and Barbara Christensen. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; many great grandchildren.
