Schaefer and Rachel Schaefer (Bohm); his daughter Jane Ann Schaefer; his sisters, Mary Huffman (McCoy) and Betty Pratt (Owen); and his siblings-in-law, Merna Calabrese, Rosie Duffy, Wilda Duffy, McCoy Huffman, Owen Pratt, Delbert Piller, Frank Duffy, Richard Duffy and James Duffy.
He is survived by: his wife Rita Duffy; his children, Susan Pleiss (Helmut) and Paul W. Schaefer (Tammy Garrington); his granddaughters, Kerstin Pleiss (Carsten) of Heilbronn, Bridgett Diemer (Brian Burton) of Yucaipa and Laura Leonard (Trevor) of Naperville, Illinois; his great grandchildren, Vivien Pleiss of Heilbronn, Ivan, Cohen Leonard of Naperville, Elijah, Isaac and Brixton Burton of Yucaipa, California; his sister Wanda Piller of Yorkville, Illinois; and his sisters-in-law, Janet Hurt (Duffy) of Pontiac and Connie Duffy of Pontiac, Illinois..
