He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest G. Ahrends and Jenny L. Ziller Ahrends; and his brother Larry Ahrends. He is survived by: his wife Diane Vance; his children, Tammy Schwerin (David) of Flanagan, IL, Dawn Millsap of Graymont, Troy Ahrends of Hollister, MO and Darin Ahrends (Krista) of Ridgedale, MO; his great grandchildren, Dominic and Roman Aguirre; his siblings, Lyle Ahrends (Carol) of Chenoa, IL, Marlyn Martz (John) of Michigan City, IN and Brenda Henkel (Merritt) of Flanagan, IL; his sister-in-law Navana Ahrends of Pontiac, IL; and also, Sarah Aguirre (Misael), Edward, Elijah, Ezra, Hope Millsap, Shaylea and Jesslyn Ahrends. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
