He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Dewey Smiddy and Mary Isabelle Smiddy (Miller); his son Jeffrey "Keith" Smiddy; his granddaughter Kimura Halbrook; and his stepmother Dorothy Smiddy.
He is survived by: his children, Shelly Halbrook (Jerry) of Granite City, Christine Smiddy of Bedford, TX, Mark Smiddy (Janet) of Granite City and Greg Smiddy (Debbie) of Scottsville, KY; his grandchildren, Stephanie Burnett (Jonathon), Jennifer O'Dell (Shawn), Ehrich Smiddy (MacKenzie), Karree Hughes (Jason), Evan Smiddy, Christopher Halbrook (Megan) and Brett Halbrook (Taylor); and his siblings, Mike Smiddy and Anita Bonser. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren.
