Opal Lee Thrasher Obituary

We are sad to announce that on December 28, 2024, at the age of 97, Opal Lee Thrasher of Granite City, Illinois, born in Knobel, Arkansas passed away. She was predeceased by: her husband Silas Thrasher; her parents, Chiles Foster and May Belle Foster (Lynch); and her siblings, Joe David, Charles Foster, J. C. Moody, Beatrice Jackson, Dessie Williams, Dianne Glenn, Claudine Nixon and Wynona Foster.

She is survived by: her daughters, Sharon Riddle of Portageville, MO and Barbara Thrasher (Modesta) of Granite City, IL; her grandchildren, Danette Riddle, Quincy Riddle and Keith Woodard; and her great grandchildren, Kayla Lyons, Danielle Riddle, Hannah Rushing and Amber Gonzales. She is also survived by 13 great great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Ermert Funeral Home, Inc. (1000 W Elm St, Corning, AR 72422). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at the New Hope Cemetery.
