He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Sr. Clay and Minnie Clay (Key); and his siblings, Edna "Tootsie" Williams, Mary "Tiny" Kissell, Barbara "Snookie" Hargrove and Clarence "Buddy" Clay, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Katherine "Kay" Kokotovich; his daughters, Elizabeth Nussbaumer (Ken) and Christina Taylor (George); his grandchildren, Whitney Lawson (Andrew), Courtney Bahr (Brad), Cameron Taylor (Emily) and Lana Nussbaumer; and his great grandchildren, Gage Lawson, Lylah Bahr, Emma Bahr, Hallie Bahr and Brooks Taylor.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church (2300 Pontoon Rd, Granite City, IL 62040).
Memorial donations may be given in the form of masses to St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.
