We are sad to announce that on October 21, 2021, at the age of 97, Ellis N. Hackney Jr. (Granite City, Illinois) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis N. Hackney, Sr. and Marie Hackney (Karleman); his sister Lucille Kalogerou (Sissy); and his wife Lois Thomas (Peggy). He is survived by: his children, Clydelle Mayfield, Dr. Tim Hackney (Debbie), Jolene Keel (Harlon), Peggy Jo Thompson (Dave) and Ellis N. Hackney, III (Karrie); and his friend Dolores Zinn. He is also survived by his children, several grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children or the Order of the Eastern Star of Illinois.
