Donald Eugene touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Logan H. Thompson and Viola Thompson (Bowers); his wife Evelyn Marie Thompson (Miller); his daughter Linda Morgan; his grandson Brian Morgan; his stepmother Jewell Thompson (Bishop); and his siblings, Truman Thompson, Russell Thompson, Raymond Thompson, James Thompson, Pete Thompson and Cecille Dunn.
He is survived by: his son Lynn; his daughter-in-law Beth Jones of Moro; his daughter Lisa; his son-in-law Chris Hillmer of Granite City; his grandchildren, Chris Morgan, Jason Morgan, Rachel Woodson (Jeffrey), Leah Sanchez (Jon), Eric Jones, Lauren Ulaszek (Kyle) and Lindsey Hillmer; and his sister Mary Brakefield. He is also survived by several great grandchildren; a great-great grandson.
Memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church or to Shriner's Hospital for Children and may be accepted at the funeral chapel.
