With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Cletus W. Smelser Jr. (Granite City, Illinois), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 21, 2025 at the age of 64. He was predeceased by: his parents, Patricia Ann Beckenbach (Noe) and Cletus W. Smelser Sr.; his stepfather Bob Beckenbach; his brother Rick Smelser; and his stepmother Sharon Jacobs.
He is survived by: his children, Linda Hanbaum of Rosewood Heights, Thomas Davis (Jennifer) of Belleville, IL, Mikeal Smelser (Ivonne) and Jon Smelser (Lillian) of East Alton, IL; his grandchildren, Steven, Audra, Thomas, Jada, Aliza, Maizie, Hayven and Alejandro; his siblings, Donna Tome, Bobbie Thuis (Shawn Widell), Becky Hines (Shawn), Bria Beckenbach, Sherry Russell, Michelle Martin (Jim), Kirsten Smelser, Shane Jenne (Catie), John Smelser (Erin) and Patrick Smelser (Shannon); and his sister-in-law Laura Smelser.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory (3939 Lake Dr, Granite City, IL 62040).
