He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Harvey and Verna Sumner (Aldridge); his in-laws, Bryan and Ella Rains; his daughter-in-law Theresa Sumner; his sister Eloise Alliss; and his brothers-in-law, Dale Alliss and Donald Lovejoy.
He is survived by: his wife Velma Sumner (Rains); his son Isaac Timothy "Tim" Sumner; his stepgranddaughter Mandy King of Mississippi; his sisters-in-law, Lorene Lovejoy of Marion, IL and Judy Heaton (Herb) of Dorsey, IL; and his nieces and nephews, Dona Hanley (Art) of Lake, Karen Williams of Edwardsville, IL, Beverly Kosmos (Joe) of Elkville, IL, Alan Lovejoy of Marion, IL, Herb Heaton (Dawn) of Edwardsville, IL, Terry Alliss of Sturgis, KY, Joey Kosmos and Michael Morgan.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of love may be directed to St. Jude Children's Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
