He was predeceased by: his parents, Clem Black and Effie Black (Mitchell); his daughter Cheryl Vogel; and his siblings, Marie Lehr, Dorothy Connolly, Irene Arkels, Catherine Poundstone, Glen Black, Vera Rowe, Mabel Cole, Roger Black, Richard Black and Maxine Bennett.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Jason, Nathan, Austin, Cody, Dalton Black, Jonathan LaValle and Dax Unz; his wife Dolores Black of Grand Ridge; and his children, Diane Black of Tinley Park, Linda Pfalzgraf of Streator and James "Jimmy" Black. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
