She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Kates and Carrie Kates (Roser); her husband Dewey; and her sister Rita Hallett. She is survived by: her children, Craig Schmitt (Janet) of Knoxville, TN and Janet Torres (John) of Ottawa; her grandchildren, Tami Wilkinson (Eric), John Torres (Michelle), Will Schmitt and Carrie Schmitt; and her great grandchildren, Beckham, Maya, Bronson and Morgan.
Memorials may be made in her name to the Grand Ridge United Methodist Church or to the family of Mary Lou Schmitt.
