He was predeceased by: his parents, John D. Spencer and Roanna L. "Roni" Spencer (Smith); his son Michael Brown; and his brother Stephen Spencer. He is survived by: his wife Margie L. Haynes; his children, Carla Newton (Jim) of Grafton and Jerry Brown (Lisa) of Augusta; his grandchildren, Roanna Newton, Amy Brown and Ashley Allen; his great grandchildren, Evelyn, Aiden, Jameson and Annabelle; and his siblings, Dane Spencer (Ruth) of Alton, Kevin Spencer (Janet) of Godfrey, Cindy Burns (Robert) of Sumner, IL and Mary Ann Zahner (Alan) of Alton.
Due to COVID 19 restrictions, a drive thru visitation will be from 4:00 p. m. – 7:00 p. m. Friday, September 4, 2020 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.
